|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Challenge of the Yukon was an adventure series featuring Sergeant William Preston of the Northwest Mounted Police and his lead sled dog, Yukon King. The pair bravely fought wrongdoers in the Northern wilderness during the Gold Rush of the 1890s. Jay Michael starred as Sgt. Preston. Although Sergeant Preston is portrayed as a larger-than-life hero in the North, he cannot pursue the evildoers without his brave Alaskan husky Yukon King. The plots involve the pair going after smugglers, robbers, or rescuing villagers from harm. Each show opens with barking dogs against a backdrop of the howling wind. The episodes often end with Sergeant Preston's proud pronouncement, "Well, King, this case is closed." |
